Forty Years of FRPM
Since the first meeting organized by Professor Bernard Martel in Saint-Denis, France, in 1987 the FRPM conference series has served as a forum for researchers dedicated to the fire safety of polymeric materials.
Unlike many scientific conferences, FRPM has evolved as a community-driven initiative rather than under the umbrella of a formal scientific society. Consequently, much of its heritage has been preserved through the memories, personal archives, and lasting connections of its participants.
Over the years, FRPM has travelled across Europe, connecting generations of scientists whose contributions have advanced the science and technology of flame-retardant polymeric materials. Although some details of the earliest meetings have been lost with time, the values that have always defined FRPM, i.e. scientific excellence, open exchange of ideas, and friendship, remain unchanged.
To mark this milestone, we have compiled the list of previous editions presented below. While every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, some information may still be incomplete. We warmly welcome corrections, additional details, photographs, conference programs, and any other material that may help document and preserve the legacy of FRPM for future generations.
If you would like to contribute to this effort, please contact the FRPM2027 Organizing Committee.
